Mostly good, falls short on finishing touches

We replaced the exact same model: GE Monogram built-in refrigerator. We really like this unit. However, I couldn™€™t give 5 stars because although this is a quality workhorse appliance, the finer BB finishing details are less than stellar. The strip that covers the edge of the door has a weak solution or affixing it to the door. It uses double-sided tape. There must be a better solution than that. Unfortunately it is right in front of me every time I open the door. The strip comes with the double-sided tape pre-applied and the person (machine??) who put it on was obviously not paying close attention and it a bit all over the place. When the tape is not applied perfectly it causes some parts of the strip to be higher than others. Disappointed in the double-sided tape solution for such an expensive appliance. Other than that we like this appliance.

Difficult to install panels and service required

Installation of custom panels required custom routering, costing me an extra $750 outside from carpenter, in addition to the $500 flush panel install kit. Should've bought the SubZero for cost difference. I consulted with two different contractors and neither had seen a custom panel that was this difficult to install. Additionally, I have had to have service twice since putting it in use, which has been under 3 months. When it works its lovely. But I would definitely not purchase again.

This unit does not allow you to turn off ice marker. Plus either the ice marker or something else, I think it is the ice marker, makes a humming noise which is unacceptable. I have scheduled a visit from the technician. Other than this humming issue the Refrigerator is very good.

This lovely built-in fridge is quiet and capacious. It was delivered with significant damage but parts were quickly sent from Monogram and we have had no problems (knock on wood!). Our only complaint is that the ice-maker is difficult to reach into. We did not want through-the-door ice and water.

This is the 3rd monogram built in fridge we have owned. 1st one lasted 15 years with countless repairs and overhauls. 2 nd one lasted 5 days before it quit working. GE replaced it and this is one is having issues with ice maker after 4 months of use. Cannot get anyone to service it. If I didnt Have a dedicated space for it I would go with a different brand. Would not buy another if I had A choice

Poorly Designed and Built

Dear Moderator: This posting did not originally nor currently mention a competitor as originally mentioned in or rejection notice. Perhaps you rejected it because you didn't like my honest opinion? This refrigerator was a replacement which we just purchased for a similar model GE Monogram that died at about nine years old. We have had this only a month and it's acting just like the old one we needed to replace. So far, since being installed, we have already had a cooling issue which spoiled about $500 worth of food. The funny thing is the GE repair man just showed up to the minute of getting the email from GE requesting I rate this refrigerator. Also, this model has the panels that match or existing kitchen. This is another reason why I am trying a second GE Monogram as the panels would not fit another manufacturer's. When the new panels were being installed, it was found that the the screws installed at the factory were over tightened thus stripping out and grip the sheet metal. Many of them came out with little or no help from a screwdriver.

We had some issues with the ice maker, which began leaking within the first week and then a loud clicking / clanging sound followed. Product is still under warranty, which is good, but I'd suggest considering the optional extended warranty as well.
