The Monogram side by side refrigerator is elegant looking and functional. Ice maker works well, nice drawers and controlled humidity drawer for vegetables. Low profile dispenser opening. Just wish water came out a little faster from the dispenser. Otherwise, it's perfect.

We replaced a 2006 Monogram withe the new model. GE finally got it right with the shelving and lighting. The compressor is a little noisier, but it™€™s so efficient it™€™s not running much. Still haven™€™t figured out how to get the plastic taste out of the ice and water.

Over Priced for the Usable Space

The capacity is significantly less than the discription - about 40% less usable freezer space and 20% less usable refrigerator space. The adjustable shelves don't budge without great, great strength and the self-closing door on the freezer is not only annoying but is also a hazard. There is an unpleasant and persistant after- taste in the water even after emptying many gallons and ice cubes. The climate controlled drawer doesn't thaw frozen items as specified and produces a humm. I would have selected a unit without a dispenser but couldn't find one in a 36" wide built-in. I replaced a 35 year old Sub Zero.

It™€™s a fridge and works well. The ice dispenser is not very good. To fill a glass with ice cubes seems to take forever. The ice gets stuck in the chute, then the ice pushing up against it will usually jostle it free for a few cubes at a time.

A Nightmare!

The refrigerator malfunctioned on the day we purchased it. Everything put in the refrigerator froze. While the company sent a technician to analyze the problem within a few days, the technician ordered the necessary parts which were to be delivered to us prior to the technician's next scheduled visit. The parts were never shipped to us and we waited almost one month to get the appliance working properly.

Lovely side by side. Replaced a previous model. Great that relocating the water filter has created more space on the top shelf. Sadly the water is no longer dispensed as cold. Also, why aren™€™t the front panel selections backlit and what happened to the proximity sensor to light up the water/ice dispenser.

I am an HVAC/R Technician. The GE Monogram is by far the most dependable, well built refrigerator on the market. It is the best built refrigerator I have ever seen or owned. The Monogram is a beautiful refrigerator. The fingerprint resistant stainless steel work great. The handles are gorgeous, and if you do need to have work or repairs performed on tje GE Monogram, all of your components are easily accessible from the panel above the refrigerator. These refrigerators are definitely commercial grade. I highly recommend the GE Monogram to anyone who is looking for a well built, reliable, top of the class refrigerator.

I looked at many competitors and it seems that French Doors are all the rage but I wanted a built-in side by side, with outside water & ice, that was also 36 inches wide. The only high-end refrigerator out there that filled this bill was the Monogram. It's really very nice, with all the features one would expect for a fridge of this price.

I am into my second model of this refrigerator. The first one failed within 5 years. The new one I purchased 10-2023 has already been serviced twice and still is not working correctly. I am on my third service call and there is no fix in sight. Quality is very poor and service is pitiful. Save yourself a lot of headache and time. Purchase another brand. Monogram is not worth it.

Periodic daily noise is excessive in my opinion and comes from various components at various times - temperature-controlled drawer, ice maker, water dispenser, defrost, etc. Lights in freezer are incredibly dim as so many others have stated. Would like more Smart features, especially at this price point.

I just got my new Monogram 36 inch side by side refrigerator today, and even though I have turned on the ice maker using the +- on the internal temp panel, the glass panel on the dispenser outside keeps saying " Ice Maker Off" . What is the setting to make sure that it says "Ice Maker On" , so that Ice can start getting made. This is very frustrating. Please advice.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My Monogram refrigerator was installed just over a year ago, and it does not work! I have had Service Techs out several times, and they work hard to make repairs that just do not address the issue. Everyone I have spoken to is nice and seems competent, but there is inadequate follow-through, and the bottom line is that we have a $10,000 appliance that doesn't work! Buyer beware!

Word of disclosure; this was our second choice. We looked at a number of other brands, but the delays to ship and obtain and the oddity of other manufacturer's side by side units brought us to the GE Monogram. This is a wonderful unit. It is very well-built, great features, and looks awesome in the kitchen. We both wish the ice maker was a little faster. It is quite functional, however, and the door dispenser is really nice.

We purchased the 36™€ Panel Ready French Door Refrigerator and it sounds like a chain saw. Seriously, the only way to stop the loud buzzing sound is to open the door. That buys us a few minutes of silence before it starts up again. We had the fan replaced and now it™€™s even worse. Worst refrigerator ever. We also bought a Monogram beverage fridge and it™€™s also very noisy. They are the most expensive, yet worst appliances I have ever owned.

Ice maker is a big thumbs down

We had an older monogram fridge that never gave us any problems. We bought all new appliances in June 2020. Twenty-four hours after we got it this loud grinding whirring noise started in the motor of the ice maker. So loud!!! I™€™d tap the motor and it would stop for a second. It didn™€™t make ice very fast and the auger didn™€™t work well to move the ice through the dispenser. I™€™d either have to put my hand inside the ice basket to move the ice for dispensing or just get it with my hands. Forget about taking the time for crushed ice. That takes forever. The motor finally burned out (I™€™m glad I bought the extended warranty). Got the new motor on Monday, this is Wednesday. I have maybe 4 ice cubes in 48 hours. I was told to give it 24 for the temp to get cold enough. 4 cubes in 48 hours? I™€™ve never seen a refrigerator take so long to start making ice. It really is ridiculous that you pay so much for a fridge with an icemaker and this is all you get. I could make ice quicker with old fashioned trays. I™€™m glad I have a second fridge (Frigidaire) that makes a lot of ice fast, I just have to go to my basement to get it. I keep refilling my plastic bag. Maybe there™€™s a correlation to cost of a fridge and the ice maker working. I think it™€™s just the Monogram. My old one really did work great. It was white and I switched to stainless steel. I hope my ice basket fill up before 2023. I don™€™t think I™€™ll waste my money on another GE fridge. I used to like GE. Oh well, lesson learned.

We just had this unit installed and there is a loud whining noise coming from the icemaker. GE apparently does not pay technicians to do any warranty work, so we cannot get anything done without paying for the service ourselves. We would highly recommend staying away from any GE products for this reason.

My wife is the sales manager for the company that we purchased this unit from and has been struggling to get anyone to address an issue that we have had since day one of installation of this refrigerator. The ice maker is making a horrible whining noise and we are concerned that it will fail soon if the problem is not addressed. As a consumer and someone who sells these products to her clients/builders it is very frustrating to say the least! If this does not get resolved very soon we will insist on a replacement unit.

10 month wait for a damaged refrigerator

10 months wait, nearly $10000 and dent in the door. Store and installer telling me not much they can do and Monogram are the worst to Warrenty and replace parts and will want the whole unit back ! So what, what I wiat anothwr 10 months with no fridge ™€¦seems like customer service is dead and long buried for some companies.

WANTED EXTERIOR H2O SO MUST HAVE REFRIGERATOR. HAVE SUBMITTED A SERVICE CALL DUE TO EXTREMELY NOISY AND ERRATIC ICE MAKER. DOES NOT STAY SILENT FOR TOO LONG. SATISFIED WITH THE UNIT BUT NEED ICE MAKER REPAIR OR REPLACED.
